Cant turn my Ipod on.

I have the same problem now!

Any fix to this? This is a brand new 5.5g 30GB ipod video...

GodEater:
BigBambi's post *is* the fix.

AlexP:
24 hours is probably a little overkill, but it needs a good long charge (from the wall adapter to ensure sufficient current).

Thanx, fixed it!

In my case, I don't believe it had anything to do with battery life as having read about the shorter battery life under rockbox, I watched the battery indicator pretty carefully. I shut down Rockbox when battery was at around 50%.

GodEater's instructions solved it for me without charging the ipod:

--- Quote from: GodEater on September 05, 2007, 03:47:13 AM ---Charge your ipod for a LONG time - at *least* two hours before you try anything else.

*Then* do a hard reset by doing the following :

Hold switch to on.
Hold switch to off.
Press and hold both MENU and SELECT for at least 30 seconds, or until your ipod restarts.

--- End quote ---

After boot, the battery was still around 50% under Apple's Firmware (thats the one I booted just to be on the safe side).
