Ipod can't synchronise with Itunes anymore
(1/1)
Thespeed:
First of all thnx for this great piece of software.
I got my ipod video 80 gb just 2 days and was really frustrated by the original itunes. Now with Rockbox its great.
Just play it from different maps.
But now the problem.. i installed rockbox and read the manual.
Everything works and i can boot it with the original firmware and Rockbox.
But now i can't synchronise anymore with Itunes :S.
He is saying while synchronising that he can't acces a file because its secured.
Sure Rockbox is great but i also wanna try the original firmware.
Does someone know what the problem is.
And if i restore the old firmware.. with the tool
will it then work?
And how is it with the guarantee.
A lot of people are saying that it will expire if you install RockBox.
I just read it to late ;).
Jep my english is not so great but i am from holland.
greetings and thnx Patrick

This doesn't sound like a Rockbox problem. What is the exact error message you are getting (or the best translation that you can do if the error message is not in English)? Is there a reference to a specific file in the error message?
Thespeed:
Well if i logon to Itunes he gives a message that the Ipod could not be synchronised. The needed file is secured. The message contains no file name :(
I can see my ipod as a drive on windows but itunes doesn't work annymore :(
Is there maybe a way that i can restore this.
thnx :)

Sounds like you deleted one of the files needed by the Apple OS, or that you have a problem with your iTunes. You could try restoring the ipod (which will erase everything on it) or reinstalling iTunes. Either way, its not really a rockbox problem, so I'd try google and see what you can come up with.

Thnx.. i did a reinstall of itunes but that didn't work.
So i copied the .rockbox directory to my computer and did the firmware restore.
After that i run the ipod patch again
Now it's working again :D..
sounds great also in my car..
i didn't got a line in and 2 fm transmitters.
very bad sound.. so i bought one that i now have connected with the antenne cable.
Great sound.. ;) better then a normal FM transmitter ;)
thnx alot
