iAudio X5L stuck at WPS after booting
« on: November 22, 2007, 05:49:22 AM »
Hello everyone,

I've checked the manual and searched the forums for an answer, but I couldn't find any help for this specific problem.

I'm using the iAudio X5L for the fourth day, and Rockbox for the third (love it so far btw) - today I already listened to some music and turned the player off as usual.
Now I wanted to turn it on again, it boots properly, but then it gets stuck at the "resume playing" screen.
the last song played before I turned it off is displayed (12th of 13th), but the duration says "10:15/1:59" - the bar is completely black (so the song is at the end obviously) and nothing works. In the top right corner there's this sign (I'm still using the standard default theme) which appears when Rockbox processes something, no music is played and I can't access any menu. The only thing I can do apparently is turning it off again by triggering power, though the "shutting down" msg doesn't even appear (same goes with the remote control).
I already tried charging it, nothing happens. the reset button doesn't change anything either.
Probably it'll work again as soon as I connect it to my PC, but is there a way to get it done without connecting it? I won't be able to get to my PC for some time and I wanna listen to some music now :(

I hope the thread belongs here, any help very appreciated.
thanks in advance!

I'm not going to open another thread concerning the same issue, so I'm bumping this one instead ..

Last time I could fix it, as expected, by connecting the player to my PC, and deleting the played directory.

Now it happened again and I'm really clueless what's causing this problem.
Has anyone encountered this before? Any solutions?

Thanks very much in advance for any help provided.
