Not sure If this is the right form im new to the rockbox thing and im having trouble with getting it to work iv followed all the instructions carfully and every tim i unconnect the ipod from the computer the samthing happence (after attempting to install rockbox that is) it comes up with a black screen and this displayed

Rockbox boot loader
Version 1.1
Ipod version 0xFFFFFFFF
TOSHIBA MK3008GL
Partition 1: 0x0B 28537 MB
Loading Rockbox...
Error!
Cant load rockbox.ipod:
File not found
Hold MENU+SELECT to reboot
then SELECT+PLAY for disk mode

Any one have any ideas there is a rockbox.ipod file in the folder on ipod...

What is meant by "the folder"? How did you install Rockbox?

You might want to try http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/RockboxUtility which is the upcoming installer.

i extracted the file that the instrutions told me to directly to F drive which is my ipod and i have a rockbox file on my ipod next to Photos, Notes, Calendars, Contacts, iPod_Control

lol ok cheers the utilaty helped and all is up and running.... now to find the music which has disapeard :D cheers
