Ordering of Files in Database
(1/1)
divine`:
When I browse my music through the database, the files are order alphabetically. I found an option that allowed me to switch this to Date based ordering but I was wondering if there is a way to get it to order the tracks by track number?
Because I have a few albums that are mixes and such which flow from track to track and obviously these will sound wrong should they get played by alphabetical track name order rather than the proper order they should be in... All the track number info is present in the ID3 tags.
Thanks for any help :)
bluebrother:
simply create a custom view for the database -- the track view (f.e. if you go to Artists / some artist / some album) already does this. See the wiki for information about how to create such a view.

it matters not anyway now, my ipod turned off and refuses to turn back on again.
Looks like Rockbox has just left me with an expensive electronic brick :(
bluebrother:
power on the Ipod (even if it stays blank) and then immediately reset it. Also, another issue might be an empty battery -- connect it to a wall charger and wait at least a bunch of hours. The apple firmware that manages booting (which isn't replaced or modified by Rockbox) has known issues with sometimes reading wrong battery values (and not turning on / immediatly powering down because of this).
You can't brick an Ipod by installing Rockbox.
