iPod Nano Database Problems
(1/1)
Bus Uncle:
Hey all, I have a 4GB nano, 1st Generation, and i seem to have a problem with the database.
Installation is fine, but the problem starts whenever i click the database button to initialize the database. I have 445 songs, and it finds all of them, requiring me to reboot.
After a reboot, my whole screen turns black with an error message saying i have a bad checksum. I had to restore my iPod TWICE due to this. This is my third time and i am getting frustrated with this.
I correctly installed the latest firmware and bootloader according to the manual.
The fourth time I tried it however, I restarted my iPod and the screen says Committing Database 1/9. It jumps to 2/9, then to 3/9, then quits. It goes back to the main menu and when I click database again, it tells me I haven't initialized the database yet.
Due to the fact I just initialized it, I try it again. It just hangs on Building Database...0 Found. I have to restart to get my rockbox unfrozen.
Any suggestions?
Bus Uncle:
My firmware is the latest version in the iPod nano category.
AlexP:
1) Please edit posts, don't double post
2) Please quote the actual version number. The 'latest' version changes several times a day (on every change to the source code shown on the front page).
Bus Uncle:
The builds I have tried using unsuccessfully were r14552, r14557.
