rockbox not working on e250

Then yes, you need to rename the Rockbox folder to .rockbox. Either you renamed it in the past, improperly, or your extraction program did something wrong.

It's not a folder, It's a file. There's only one folder that's called rockbox. Then there's a file inside that folder that's called rockbox.mi4

That's why I said "you need to rename the rockbox folder" and not "you need to rename rockbox.mi4". I was referring to the folder earlier discussed...

Nevermind. I just had to change the program that I was using to unzip the rockbox folder. Now everything works just fine. I want to thank everyone that helped me. Thanks!

Perhaps you could explain what program you were using and what program you switched to so that others with the same problem who find this thread in the future can benefit from your solution.

First I was using Bitzipper. That was the program that didn't extract the folder right. So I uninstalled that program and opened the rockbox.zip with the zip program that comes installed on Windows XP.

Whoo-hoo!  I found this thread and figured out why I couldn't get Rockbox to work right on my Sansa e250!

I was using the Windows unzip utility, but it wasn't creating the ./rockbox subdirectory.  I unzipped everything on my hard drive and copied it over.  Now it works.  Well, at least it boots into Rockbox, which is the first step!
