stuck on patching
« on: August 24, 2007, 06:17:10 PM »
i'm having some difficulties following the simple guide to compiling and patching. i have the cygwin and everything, and i want to use the album art patch, but i think i'm putting the album_art.patch in the wrong place before i type "patch --binary -p0 < patchfilename"

it gives me something like "can't find file to patch at input line 5" and then "file to patch:" and i don't know what i'm supposed to do.

Firstly, it is VERY helpful if you give exact steps you have done and exact error messages, as they are useful.

Secondly, have you tried replacing p0 with p1, p2, p3 etc as per the WorkingWithPatches wiki page?
