disable lcd in Sansa e280?
« on: September 22, 2009, 02:07:48 AM »
Does setting the backlight to OFF disable the LCD and prevent the lcd from using any power? I searched for an answer first but didn't find one.

My Sansa e280 has a broken lcd screen so I am now using the Rockbox voice files. I figure it will save battery power to turn the lcd off completely.

It does on screens where this is a) doable and b) you can't read them without the backlight.  I'm not sure if this applies to the e200.  The LCD is usually a pretty small power draw compared to the backlight anyway.
