Sansa WPS keys

I was trying to follow the instructions in the playlist thread down the page a bit, and I found the wps keys on my sansa e280 don't work the same way.

The manual says:
long play = stop
long select = file menu

I get:
long play = file menu
select = file menu
long select = nothing

Also the power + left and power + right don't seem to work.

Is this a problem with me, or the manual or the code?

Are you running a default installation - some of the custom builds include key-modifier patches

And do you mean by 'WPS keys' using these keys while the WPS is displayed? It may be possible (although unlikely) that key mappings are changed depending which screen you are on.

Default installation downloaded this morning, and yes I am talking the keys when the wps screen is showing (and comparing them to "4.3.1 WPS Key Controls" in the manual). I should also say that I tried all the other keys mentioned and they do work. I can not find any way to do a "stop".

The Sansa's keymap is somewhat different from some other players. But I assure you, in the WPS, holding down Play/Pause should stop playback. It works like that on mine.

If you're trying to use it as the "Stop" button in another screen, though, this shouldn't necessarily be expected to work.

I have investigated more, I moved my .rockbox/ and did a fresh unzip - then stop worked, it also switches to the file (or database if that was last) browser. Then I moved the old .rockbox/ back and it did exactly the same thing! Come to think of it I did sometimes see this behaviour before, bout I assumed that that was some kind of funny mode rather than the correct behaviour.

Still the keys are a little different from the manual:
long play = stop and go to browser
select = go to browser
long select = nothing

I will keep an eye out for the not stopping case and see if I can figure out how to replicate it.

I not seen the not stopping case again - I must have imagined it .

I also took a quick look at the code, it specifies select for the browser (rather than long select as the manual says).
