New Theme phkOSC: Oscilloscope to "analyze" your music

Hi, this is the new iPod video WPS theme I'm working on.

phkOSC is based on an oscilloscope.

The progress bar is a waveform being "analysed". Rotating knobs, switchs, leds, etc..

I hope to finish it soon, but I'm busy lately.

He's the Terminator of the WPS world.

Fantastic attention to detail again.

If I could make a suggestion:

a) Slightly rounded internal corners in the main display
b) A couple of screwheads and bezels "holding" the front plate in. (esp. on the rounded corners of the main display)
c) Perhaps a little scratch or dint or two.


Seeing these themes makes me realise how much more *usable* analogue controls are instead of all this touch sensitive digital nonsense; it's why I have Tivoli Model One's and PAL's all over the house.

Once again PHK Brasil, the "Artist" badge fails to do you justice.  You consistently make original and impressive WPSs.

Give the EvilG build with screen rotation a spin. You need to do some simple editing on the WPS to refer to the .rockbox_1 folder, but other than that it works flawlessly for me.

Themes aside, I find landscape to be a better format all round - I find it less irritating to (accelerated) scroll down long lists than to wait for names etc. to scroll horizontally.

Did you know that you can manually scroll exceedingly long names by simply holding Left/Right (on the Gigabeat, combinations differ on other players)?

Thanks, but yes I did (to both), but I find not having to scroll preferable (and much more likely if in landscape mode). The current scrolling method does work well when it's unavoidable though.

Thanks for all replies, compliments and suggestions. It's finished. I had to remake and reduce the quantity of some images, cause they overloaded the maximun capacity.

I made two versions: phkOSC uses nimbus-12 fonts and phkOSC_tah uses tahomabd fonts. Both are included on the download file.

If UK users want a UK version with inverted position of the toggled switchs, I'll make.

Sorry, but there's no nano version.

Wow.  I want to get an ipod Video just to run this theme on it.

I'm going to download it and see how much of it I can use and then try to make a Sansa theme.

OK, I adapted this for gigabeat.  I had to rearrange lots of things, and it can probably be done better!  However if anyone wants it, and PHK Brasil doesn't mind I can upload it.
