Does anyone know if the firmware (I assume that's the files in the GBSYSTEM folder) is identical / compatible between an F40 and an F60.
Without getting into too much detail, mostly because I don't remember how I did it ... in the process of playing w/ Rockbox on my F40 I managed to OOPS and delete the GBSYSTEM folder. Don't know exactly how and it really doesn't matter, but it was definitely gone.
OK, figured it'd be a simple fix. Plugged the F60 into the PC, downloaded *its* GBSYSTEM to the PC, plugged the F40 in and uploaded that GBSYSTEM to the F60. Reinstalled Rockbox from latest build.
Turned on the F40, everything looks good. Original Gigabeat flash screen. Loads Rockbox. Whew, I figure.
Not to be. Try to play a couple of songs. A few of them start to play (the rockbox WPS screen comes on) but then goes right back to the rockbox main menu. Try to play a couple of others ,get an "undefined instruction @ 01ef1050" message. I'm thinking there's a problem w/ the F40 not liking something in the F60 GBSYSTEM folder / files.
Does this make any sense to anyone? Is there a way to get back to basic square one on the F40 with what I have ... a good F60 and the Version 3 update CD from Toshiba.
Thanks in advance.
