Main menu customization

Hi all,
First thanks to all of you which are contribuing to this very good Itune/apple firmware alternative .
I must say that i really like the way things are goin'on the Rockbox project.
I've started to use Rockbox a while ago on a jukebox...I've get a month ago an Ipod video and the result is really amazing.
Actually, as an extreem noob in this purpose i do have a question concerning the Main menu UI.
Today, as far as i've search the forum and the whole google, i could not find any REAL modification of the Menu UI.
Are we force to keep this UI(files-tree) or is there any existing ways to have something??
I hope i've posted in the right section if not please don't get mad at me i'll try to make it better the next time

The only way to change the way the menu is laid out is to change the source code and compile yourself a custom build.

Customising the menu from within Rockbox has been discussed many times, and we don't want it, as it will make support a complete nightmare.

Anyway i there any "not-supported" build with differents UI??

If your question is "are there any unsupported builds with a different UI layout?" then I believe the answer is no - as what qualifies as one person's ideal UI does not necessarily qualify as someone else's.

For the most part, all our users, even the fans of the unsupported builds, are happy with the standard menu layout, since it's consistent, and therefore easy to ask questions about.

If your main concern is the file tree view then you should look at using the database view. That's very customizable. See http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/DataBase for more details.
