I would just like to thank Rockbox...
« on: August 21, 2007, 01:13:44 PM »
For making my ipod 30gb video completely inoperable. All my playlists are gone. And yes I used the ipodpatcher to "u" uninstall first. Once Rockbox was off my ipod I did serveral soft resets and 4 restores.

Now its just stuck on the apple icon screen.

I don't entirely blame rockbox for ruining my ipod, Apple has alot to do with it to. Being how crappy thier os and software, hardware and basically every aspect of Apple's being is overwhelmingly redundant, unnecessarily complicated, and just plain retarded.

I am too curious to find out how they are going to handle my case, how much they are going to charge me for shipping and if they will even fix my pos player.

Anyways what I'm trying to get at is Rockbox was made for iRiver and Archos and the port for iPod has not been 100% safe. So for you podders, just stay away....

If you were able to remove Rockbox and restore your iPod (even once, let alone four times), then whatever the problem is that you are having has nothing to do with Rockbox.

What happened when you removed the Rockbox bootloader with ipodpatcher?  (You indicated in your thread yesterday that you were able to do this.)

When you say that you did several "soft resets," are you referring to the Menu + Select key combination?  What was the result?

How did you attempt to restore the iPod?  What was the result?  Why did you do so four times?

Can you put the iPod into Disk Mode?  If so, does your computer recognize it?

RB on my iPod Photo working beautifully, no complaints whatsoever. Highly recommended to all podders out there  ;)

And I can't think of a situation where I would get free and experimental software, and complain about losing data because of a glitch  ???
