battery life on 5g ipod
(1/1)
dopig5:
Hi - i installed Rockbox yesterday and charged it overnight. I only got 3 hours batter life out of it. I looked at what i should expect and i clearly have some problem. I was not looking at video, just listenting to an audio book in mp3 format. I did notice this morning though that the (what i assume is the )hardrive was continually 'clicking' and that the ipod was warm - neither of which i had noticed before using the Apple firmware.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
S
LambdaCalculus:
What settings are you using? Can you post your config file up so we can see what you have switched on or off?
You can find it in /.rockbox/config.cfg; on Windows, this would be x:\.rockbox\config.cfg (replace x with the drive letter Windows assigns to your iPod.)

i use fedora - but unfortunately only at home - redhat is used here at work and plugging in my ipod shuts down the computer - i will get this file when i get home and post it. I am using the EvilG-lite-Fusion-30G-20070717 build - is this a bad idea?

Febs:
That is an unsupported build. As the phrase "unsupported build" suggests, we do not provide support for it in these forums. You have two choices:
(1) Install an official build by clicking the "current build" link on the navigation panel on the left and seeing if your problem exists with the official build; or
(2) Ask your question in the thread in the "Unsupported Build" forum relating to EvilG's build.

will do the latter, thanks
