Sansa Patcher doesn't work
Llorean:
What mode is your Sansa in when attached, and what does the partition layout look like?

It's in MSC.
It looks like this:
Llorean:
First off, are you on an administrator account?
Secondly, I asked about the partition layout. Specifically I need to know the sizes of the normal and the hidden partition on your device. Since I don't use Vista, I couldn't specifically tell you a good way to do this.

Yes, I am the administrator. And there's no hidden partition on the Sansa because the patcher won't work.
Llorean:
The patcher requires the hidden partition to exist to be able to work. The original firmware also requires it to work, because that's where it's stored before you boot, unless it's an R-series.
So, either you were wrong about the original firmware being able to boot, you're wrong about it not being an -R series, or you're wrong about there not being a hidden partition. Two of these three answers do explain perfectly why the patcher program doesn't work, though, so if either of the first two are right then you know what you need to fix.
