Sansa Patcher doesn't work
Toxicity:
--- Quote from: Llorean on August 19, 2007, 01:59:37 PM ---The patcher requires the hidden partition to exist to be able to work. The original firmware also requires it to work, because that's where it's stored before you boot, unless it's an R-series.
So, either you were wrong about the original firmware being able to boot, you're wrong about it not being an -R series, or you're wrong about there not being a hidden partition. Two of these three answers do explain perfectly why the patcher program doesn't work, though, so if either of the first two are right then you know what you need to fix.

The original firmware works fine, and my e250 isn't of the R series. I'll keep messing with it until I figure it out.
Llorean:
Then we've established that you have a hidden partition. How big is it?

Okay, when I plug it in in MSC mode, there are two new partitions: One, which is called "SANSA E250", is 1.85 GB and is of the FAT filesystem. The other, which is just called "Removable Disk (K:)", has a capacity of 0 bytes, with 0 bytes used.
Llorean:
No, this are two drive letters. The hidden partition, being "hidden", does not show up as a drive... You'll need to use a tool that can show you the actual partition table of the device.

Okay, found it. The hidden partition is 20 MB.
