Is there a way to set rockbox to use compilations?

iTunes has a feature to catalogue all your compilationsin a seperate area in the database...I can't find that option in Rockbox, does it exist?

And is it normal for brickmania to freeze up for no particularreason on a 5G 80 gig iPod?

If they are in different folders, I believe you can filter the database on that.  However if you are using iTunes it gives your files stupid names and puts them in stupidly named folders.

You can also filter the database on tags, so for instance you could filter all files with genre "Compilations" into one menu, etc.  Have a look at custom database filters (I can't remember the proper name, check the wiki, or the link in Bascule's sig.

No.  I trust you are using the current (as in right now current - it is updated many times per day) official build?  If so, check if there is an existing bug report.  If not, please open one with a description of the problem and instructions on how to reproduce.

If I upgrade the build, will I lose what's already onthe iPod? Lots of things seem to keep freezing up on me...unless there's some kind of universal pause butotn I'm pressing.

No, just unzip a new build over the old one.  Make sure you upgrade the bootloader.

You should ALWAYS test with the current build before reporting bugs.

I just replaced the build with the newest one. Quick question though...what's a bootloader? I'm sure these questions are answered elsewhere, but I read through the help manual and didn't seem to pick up on some things...

Okay, so I got the latest build. When I open the game chopper and go to quit, my iPod freezes up. This happens everytime. Anyone know what's up?

Hi, concerning the question with the compilations:
For this purpose you can use the albumartist tag. Just set the albumartist tag for the compilations to something like for example "various artists" and leave it blank for the other files. Then instead of the "Artist" view use the "Albumartist" view.

(if you change the tags only, you need to rebuild the Database in order to pick up the changes.)

For an iPod, the bootloader is installed by iPodpatcher.  To install the latest, follow the instructions in the manual.
