IPOD to Sansa Dock Connector

No. It wouldn't talk the same language as the iPod remote. The first step would have to be installing Rockbox, and getting Rockbox able to speak to both types of remote.

So i'm better off tring to help devlop rockbox for e200r users, like me. It's too bad i can't help because what they need to do is too possible for normal end users.

Sorry to re-activate a topic that's been idle for a while...

I have a Sansa E280 with Rockbox on it. I have an Alpine 9886 head unit in my car which has a USB port and also has an Ipod interface connector for which I have the proper cable to hook to an Ipod. I don't have or ever want an Ipod. 8-)

Can the Ipod cable plug directly into my E280? If not is there any sort of adaptor out there (perhaps from Sandisk themselves or a 3rd-party) that will connect a Sansa E-series player to an Ipod connection such as the cable for my Alpine head unit or to say an Ipod docking station?

I've never actually seen an Ipod up close to physically compare the connector with the one on my E280 but I'm betting they are different both in design and pinout, but I could be wrong.

Thanks, Craig.

The answer is still no.
