Battery life on FLAC 0 and FLAC 8 ...

I believe (and I think the iPod runtime tests on the wiki bear me out) that until the large constant power draw issue is worked out on the newer ipods, choice of codec has a small bearing on runtime.

Codec choice (and the differences in CPU usage) appears to be a relatively small variable in runtime as long as the heavy constant power draw remains.  I'll admit the battery benchmarks currently posted do not provide a definitive answer, but they point to the conclusion I am drawing.

An easy way to test this would to run a battery bench playing a low CPU codec, and running the bench again with boost artificially set at 100%.
I predict only smallish differences in runtime.



If I'm proven wrong - we can just debate my definition of "smallish" ;)
