DEAD IPOD!! PLZ HELP!

hello, i installed rockbox on my ipod video 5th gen 3 days ago. it worked a few hours after the install, then went dead. Now it wont turn on. when I plug it in to the PC, wall or car charger, it shows no sign of charging. I cant turn it on at all. If i plug it into the PC, it wont show up. It is totally useless. Nothing shows up on the screen, it is dead. please help.

What you attempted the reset procedure as described at Apple's site?

Second, it sounds like you're just suffering from deep discharge. Plug the iPod into a wall charger, and leave it for a day or two. Your iPod may not be dead after all.

If, after trying to charge it for a while, it still won't work, then we have a problem.

did you do a hardware reset?  this almost never fails:

flip the hold switch on then off.  hold down OK + Menu until the ipod shows the apple logo.
