That's what it looks like to me, but that's also why I asked him for a little more information. It is listed quite clearly in the manual that you need to have Admin/root privledges to install the bootloader, no matter what OS you're using.

I'm going to assume he's running Windows here, and if not, I'll stand corrected.

hey sorry about not giving all this info (was a bit late when i put this up).

I am currently running windows xp sp2. my ipod appears to be formatted fat32

and it appears to be seeing my ipod. i will show you what it says before i even get to click "i [ENTER]"

For the benefit of others who may experience something similar and find this thread when searching, what was the problem/solution?

Well, it was as easy as completely rebooting my computer. That was my last ditch effort. I re-extracted rockbox back on my ipod, ran the bootloader, and that was it.

I know that should have been the first thing to do, but I guess i didn't think about doing that.
