ipod video: music wont play!

Which Ipod Video build (zip) did you download and install exactly: the "Ipod Video 64MB" one or the other that only says "Ipod Video"? (The latter would be the correct one for the 30GB player whereas the 64MB version can cause the problems you describe, I think.)

i downloaded the 64mb one..i didnt even realize there were two types lol

That's your problem.  Try the 32MB build.

ok ill try it out and see if it works...also if i allready had music on my ipod before i got rock box, is there a way can i still listen to it?

Yes, read the manual (follow the link in the left hand side menu) - especially the parts about the Database but it is an interesting read in general. ;)
