ipod video: music wont play!

so far i love rock box but i cant get any of my music to play it will play about 20 seconds of a song then crash with an error message...some one help?

Please provide the following information:

1.  The type of player you are using (iPod, iriver, iAudio, Sansa, etc.)
2.  The bootloader version that you are using
3.  The version number of the Rockbox build that you are using
4.  The type of music you are trying to play (mp3, wav, flac, wma, etc.)
5.  The exact error message that you receive.

im using an ipod 30gb video
the bootloader i got from rock box website not sure of the name
im using the curent build..(just downloaded last night)
they're mp3s
and it says a number of different errors..such as abort data at(random numbers), undifined instruction at (more random numbers), prefecth abort at(random numbers again) it doesn't stop there but those are the main three

Please also state the exact version number. This can be found in the "System > Rockbox info" menu.

Which Ipod Video build (zip) did you download and install exactly: the "Ipod Video 64MB" one or the other that only says "Ipod Video"? (The latter would be the correct one for the 30GB player whereas the 64MB version can cause the problems you describe, I think.)

i downloaded the 64mb one..i didnt even realize there were two types lol

That's your problem.  Try the 32MB build.

ok ill try it out and see if it works...also if i allready had music on my ipod before i got rock box, is there a way can i still listen to it?

Yes, read the manual (follow the link in the left hand side menu) - especially the parts about the Database but it is an interesting read in general.

lol well i read the manual over and over and couldnt seem to find the problem. i even checked the faqs...i guess no one makes the mistake i did i feel stupid..but ill check it out. thanx for all your help!!! lol

pixelma was saying that if you want to be able to see music that you loaded onto your player via iTunes, then you will probably find the section regarding the database useful.
