Rockbox hangs on boot on iPod Nano

(1/2) > >>

SorcererSteven:
I have a 4GB iPod Nano, and for the past couple of updates (r14288 being the latest working daily build) the iPod consistently hangs while turning it on. It goes through the apple display with no problems, but freezes while displaying the Rockbox logo and revision number. I've tested this with the latest CVS (As of posting).
I can boot it into the Apple firmware, allowing me to update it or put on an old daily build. If I attach it to my computer while it's in its frozen state, my computer says the USB device is malfunctioning or the device is unrecognized, and there is no change on the iPod end.
There are no problems when I put on r14288 or earlier, but any later update seems to mess it up. Is this a known problem? Should I post it in the bug reports? Or have I done something wrong ^_^.
Any ideas are welcome, and thanks in advance.

GodEater:
Do you have the voice menus turned on, and a voice file installed ?

SorcererSteven:
Yes, voice menus were on (as is default), and no, I don't have a voice file installed. I tried turning off voice menus and installing the latest CVS, and still no luck.

Have you seen this thread: Latest Rockbox not working on Nano?

Maybe your Nano is affected too? Since none of the developers owns such a non-working one, it is important to gather as much information as possible to find out what makes them different and what can be done to fix the problem. If you think that the description applies to your Nano too, you could help with filling out the information in the bug report that is mentioned on the last page.

This thread also seems to be connected with the same issue:

Wrong menu item texts - or so?
