Rockbox based Replaygain scans?

I don't know much about the playback engine (I did look once and I realised how far down the software engineering skills ladder I am ...) but I was wondering how practical it would be to do the scan while playing the file anyway, and once the first play is done the setting could be calculated and the tag written. That would only work for track (not album) RG though.

Play does exactly what you want, and it stores the ReplayGain information in id3v2 tags.

(Sorry to repeat a link that's been mentioned twice above, but I think it's worth reinforcing that there is a straightforward solution for Mac users.)
