Simulator hanging on play

(1/1)

mo-seph:
Hi all,

I'm having problems with the rockbox simulator. It compiles, and basic operation is fine, but whenever it comes to playing, it hangs hard - it needs a kill -9 to terminate.

I'm on Linux (Ubuntu Feisty), and I've tried getting rid of all my sound daemons (esd, artsd) but the problem persists. It has worked in the past, but intermittently, but currently it fails consistently. strace doesn't give any useful feedback.

Any ideas? Is this a common problem? I can't find mention of it on the forums or the wiki.

Cheers!

To reply to my own post, I've changed the simulator build target from a sansa to an iAudio, and now everything works fine.

Bagder:
I don't think _anything_ changes internally for playback when you change target for the sim...

mo-seph:
Yeah, that's what I would have expected; if there's any debugging which you think would be useful, let me know.
