iPod 5.5(80g) & Nano turn themselves on ???
Kakoo:
Hello Rockbox community!
I'm very happy with my Rockboxed Nano, it definitely rocks! But...sometimes my iPod power up alone after a while without I press any button, and when I turn it off , I leave the hold on, at least when it boots on Apple OS it automatic power off after a while. The bad thing about this is the less batt runtime. So...what is happening?
I'm using Rockbox r14174-070804
Thanks,
Kakoo
(sorry about my english, i'm from brazil and my english is not so good)

This never happened with my nano, my first 60gig 5g, or my girlfriend's 30gig 5.5g, but ever since I got a new 60gig 5g (to replace my old one) back in February it's been happening intermittently.
To be more specific, it used to turn on IMMEDIATELY after idling or powering off every time (so I obviously would always turn on the hold switch -- this actually prompted me to start using iTunes & the apple fw a bit for shorter sessions, like driving in the car). The last month or two it's become much more random: it's gone days and days without doing it; it no longer turns back on every time after shutting it off.

Same here with my 5g 30gig. It's been powering itself for the past month from time to time, no clue as to why it happens, seems totally random. I tried reseting several times, using default settings for a bit, but it still happens.
I'd write a bug report but since I can't pinpoint the problem, that would be quite useless :(

Was the cause of this issue ever determined? I'm still getting this issue on the latest build. The thing with mine though is that the ipod likes to turn itself on most often on the time that is set in the wake up timer, even though I have not activated the alarm. It seems to me like rockbox is not remembering that I did not activate the alarm, or that sometimes it maybe doesn't remember the correct setting for the alarm (i.e. off).
Anyhow, I was just wondering if other people are still getting this issue too.

My iPod is also doing this. I have a 3G 10GB.
