My batter life (1hr 30min?!?!?!)

I used Rockbox a couple months ago and I had decent battery life like 7 hrs. Now I want to reinstall it on my 5.5G 30GB iPod and it gets 1hr and 30 mins?!?! Why is this. Any help is appreciated. Rockbox sure as hell isn't worth it if I'm sitting here getting an hour and a half.

The two most likely options:

1.  You didn't charge the battery fully before testing.

2.  The battery is nearing the end of its useful life and needs to be replaced.

I had a similar problem, but it got repaired by itself, once I started my Ipod and the battery was fuller than ever before... 95% in Rockbox and I have no idea what corrected it, it's been good ever since.

Also, note that the remaining time indicator is not necessarily very accurate.  Make sure that you are measuring your battery performance by actually timing how long it takes to run from a full charge to shutdown.  The Battery Bench plugin is a good way to get an accurate report of runtime.  Don't try to use the remaining time indicator to extrapolate what your runtime is.
