Please forgive what may be a naive question, but on the Daily Builds page there is now a Map File available for download.
What exactly do you do with this? (clean answers only, please)

I had a quick look through the IRC logs and I
believe
they are developers' files for debugging a build.
How/what they do was not explained...

I think it's to map changes to the code, but I'm not 100% sure myself.
By the way, and not to be mean about it... you could've posted this in General Discussion, you know.

map files give the layout of rockbox executables in memory. They're useful for debugging.

So, for example, when you get, say, a data abort at xxxxxxxx, you can reference that string with the map to figure out "where" the data abort happened.
