Hi,

I'm a noob to rockbox and I wanted to know if there is a way that i can make it so when I switch the hold button on it will boot rockbox instead of the original ipod firmware?

There are unsupported builds which provide this functionality I believe - check the unsupported builds forum.

Otherwise you'll have to build your own bootloader to do this.
