Hey this is my first post.. ive had rockbox for a while now but I remember when i first installed it i read something about removing the stock Toshiba Gigabeat splash bootscreen to speed up the startup time.  is this still possible?  i dont have a lot of programming experience, so i cant really do a lot of technical stuff i just wondered if there was a reasonably simple fix.  right now it does the Gigabeat boot screen then it goes into the grey rockbox boot screen and the whole process takes a while.  id imagine since im not using the toshiba bootloader the toshiba splash screen is no longer necessary.

thanks.

There is kind of something that can skip that beginning splash screen but as of now it's not the most stable thing but it is pretty cool.

You'll have to make yourself a custom build if you want it.

The original splash you see is the "BIOS" of the gigabeat, which does a bunch of important stuff. That isn't the bootloader. What happens after that point is the bootloader.

bascule:
What you are thinking of is a bunch of replacement files for the Gigabeat firmware image files that are empty, thus reducing the boot time of the 'Gigabeat bit'.
