Corrupted iPod (sad face) (was: please help me)

ok i installed rockbox for the second time into my ipod on yesterday.
but something went wrong and i turned it off, and it stayed off. i came home and pluged it into my computer, and it didnt do anything. it stayed off. it had a full charge off battery. finally i got it to turn on and it told me that i had corrupted filed. or it gave me the sad face. i switched it to disk mode and now its not reading on my computer so i can restore my ipod. can someone give me help on why its not reading my ipod?

yeah. and i plug it into my computer and it doesnt read it.

What does the ipod display when you plug it in ?

Well that implies that your iPod has seen the connection from the PC - so I'm not *quite* sure why your PC isn't seeing it.

Have you tried rebooting the PC too ?

i havent rebooted my comp. but if i go into like my computer and i search for the removeable hard drives in depth, i find my ipod. but its not registering as its pluged into one of the usb drives.

How about if you launch disk management, and see if you can force a drive letter to be assigned to it ?

From memory this is launched by right-clicking on My Computer, choosing "Manage", and then go into Disk Manager somewhere in the tree on the left in the window that opens.

alright well im trying to connect to it, its taking forever to load though
