iHP-120 Frozen at "Loading"
« on: August 07, 2007, 01:12:31 AM »
I just updated my iHP-120 with "H120(us)_V166" and loaded the bootloader. After doing this I booted to Rockbox and loaded a flac file as a test. The file played normally for about 15-20 seconds and then cut out. replaying the file produced the same result 3-4 times, then 'Loading....' appeared in the center of the screen and will not go away no matter what I do. No buttons or nav button will do anything. I tried the reset but still nothing. My only solution at this point is to go to bed and wait for the battery to run down, then try to restart and hope it works. Any better suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

The reset button physically disconnects power. If the reset button doesn't work, either yours is actually broken off, or as is most commonly the case, you've missed the actual button (it's quite small in there, and easy to miss, you should not us anything sharp).

I was able to get the reset button to shut down. Powered up and tried the same flac file with the same result, cuts out at 29 seconds. The file is over 5 minutes long. Loaded another flac and it won't play. Tried a wav file and it won't play. tried the 'current build' and same result. 'Loading...' appeared breifly a couple times, but went away. This is a refurbished unit I just got today. Could it be not so refurbished?
Thanks,
Steve

What build were you using before? Our forum guidelines require you be using a current build before asking questions.

Try deleting your Rockbox folder entirely, and installing a current build. But yes, it's possible the refurbished unit won't work for one reason or another. Check the back of the unit, and see if it clearly identifies itself as an H120. One possibility early on could be that it's an H115 or 110 with a 20gb drive in it.
