H140 replacement with same recording capabilities

(1/2) > >>

Dick:
I dropped my beloved H140 from 2 meters onto tile floor. It still starts and navigates but doesn't play, record or anything anymore. So I am looking into getting a new device.
What's most important for me is that it can record from line in. I do a good deal of mic-recordings plugging my OKM to the line-in. If I understand it correctly the specialty of the H140 is that it provides some voltage to a plugged mic thru the line-in which is why with my H140 I do not need an extra amp for my microphone. Do any of the other DAPs supported by Rockbox meet this requirement?

LambdaCalculus:
Have you thought about the H140's counterpart, the H340?

The recording hardware seems quite similar between the two devices to me.

Llorean:
The big difference is that the H300 series doesn't have optical input and output, which some might consider part of the recording capability.

Dick:
Fortunately the optical in/out is of no importance for me. Actually I had previously already considered switching to the H340 due to the better (color) display and USB host function (although USB host still only works with iriver f/w, if I am not mistaken - but that's ok).
Unfortunately there obviously are no new H340s around. But it is an option - thanks for the hint.

LambdaCalculus:
That's the one bad thing about the iriver H100 and H300 models: you have to hit eBay to get one nowadays.
