cant download the bootloader

hi ive had rockbox running now for quite some time and i decided to update it so i downloaded the latest build, installed it than my gigabeat would just freeze at the boot up so than i removed all of the rockbox files including the old bootloader everything went great the old gigabeat software worked perfect. So now when i try to download  the new bootloader i just get what looks like to be code?? nothing asking me to download i just open the file?? im sure it is something simple

Where, exactly, are you trying to download the bootloader from?

I assume that you are following this link from the installation instructions in the Rockbox Manual:

http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/gigabeat/

Just right click on the file you need and select "save file as" or "save link as" (the exact wording of the option may vary depending on what browser you use).
