Hi Gang:

When I run "Cscript makevoices.vbs" I receive the following message:

Making english voice file with "VW Paul" (SAPI 5)
D:\voice\makevoices.vbs(183, 5) Microsoft VBScript runtime error: File not found

Question:  what file is not found.

According to the documentation, I have all necessary files in to the voice creation directory.

Any help would be appreciated all over the place.

Hi Gang:

I want to create my own voice file for my Iriver H120 player but I am not quite understanding the process.

I downloaded and installed the Cygwin program, I also downloaded the English.lang file, as well as the other tools which I will need.  The problem that I am having is with genlang.  I was able to find a genlang.txt file from the rockbox site; however, I don't know what to do with it. How do I run genlang to create my own english.lang file which I can use for my english.voice file?

Thanks much gang

This used to be the place to get info (http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/VoiceFiles), but since the language generation method has recently changed significantly, you may struggle...  :(

Hi Gang:

Looks like someone forgot to create/include the voice files for the revisions dated August 6 and 7 rendering them useless.

It would sure be helpful if someone could walk me through the steps for creating my own voice file.  I have no trouble creating the Voice files for my  files and directorys.  Apparently, the voice files are now generated automatically with the daily builds.

Any help would be appreciated because, as a Blind user, I depend on speech to access my box.

Thanks all over the place gang.

Voice files are available on the daily builds page:
