Songs not Showing Up

Hey,
  RockBox worked fine and all, but when I added new songs to my Ipod (60Gb) They did not appear. I have tried removing and adding again the bootloader, but for some reason none of the songs i have added appeared. During the period in which it was not installed, they did appear in apple's pod OS. ... ?

Do you mean 'They did not appear in Rockbox' or 'They did not appear in the Apple OS'?

Well, are they properly tagged (have you confirmed the tags by browsing to them in the filetree and using the option in the context menu to view their tags), and have you told the database to update?

I have refreshed my database but my .aac files are not showing up. How do I check the tags? I have tried open with viewer but it's just gobbledygook

If you really mean the file extension is ".aac", then they will not be loaded by Rockbox. The AAC data must be in an MP4 container with one of the extensions .m4a, .m4b or .mp4. But I suspect this isn't the problem here...

Tags can be checked by several programs, e.g., Foobar2000 or MP3Tag (on Windows). But you can try to play the file from the file browser. That shows if Rockbox can play the file (it is a little picky about MP4 files) and if so, you can use the ID3 Info screen to see what tags Rockbox sees.

I tried using a different m4a encoder and it works now. thanks for the help!
