.rockbox corrupted?
« on: August 05, 2007, 05:08:43 PM »
hey, i just installed rockbox on my e260 and its working great.  so i tried to install on my e250 and its not working at all.  it has the .rockbox folder but if i try to open it it says that its corrupted.  ive tried the sansapatcher and it cant find my player.  also, everytime i start my player up now, it has me select the language and removes anything that id put on it.  i cant delete the .rockbox folder either.  a little help please?

Did you connect using the correct USB mode?

Maybe you should try formatting the player and reinstalling both the original firmware and rockbox

anybody?  ive tried formatting, deleteing, even e200tool.  i havent done the i2c file thing yet because its not going into preboot mode.  when i start it it goes straight into the select language menu everytime. in MSC mode it lets me bring over only one file at a time and when it resets the system the music doesnt show up.  so i go back into MSC mode (my computer doesnt recognize it in MTP) and when i connect it to the computer, it looks like i never even added nything.  all the music files or anything that id just put there are suddenly gone, help please?

It sounds like the original firmware is acting like it had a new install every time you boot up. This may be because of your incomplete format (which is odd that the drive was not able to be formatted). What i would do if i were you is try renaming the .rockbox folder (if you can). And put a new one in its place.
Also, when you connect it to the computer, make sure you have "show hidden files" configured in XP. sometimes (in my experience at least). The music folder gets hidden. (Another way to check is to see how much space is left on your player).

Please make an effort to write in standard English on these forums. This means using proper spelling and grammar. We have a lot of readers who are not native English speakers, and they may have a hard time reading a post such as yours.

I'm afraid I can't help the original poster with your problem, since I don't know much about the Sansa.
