mpegplayer bug on sansa 2gb?

Hello,
very often when I try to start mpeg-video only the sound starts and

"prefetch abort at C0DBABE"

is displayed. The only way to get out of this is to force power off by pressing power button for about 10 secs.

I use vlc to convert mpegs like described in mpegplayer-wiki and I tried different resolutions and bitrates but it's always the same. Did not find any rule for that.

Looking forward any useful hints.

btw: rockbox is great!! all issues of the original firmware I did not like have been resolved and I start using my player again. Thanks to all developers!

How old is your build? Have you tried with the latest current build?

it happens with r14187-070805 but it also happened on one from -070803.

yeah i have the same problem with video. Some vids work but about 20% show "prefetch abort at C0DBABE" and only sound plays. its enoying and i dont know how to fix it. only sound works. i tried new builds every time but none worked. i have a sansa e200 can someone help?

Ahh, another victim of the "Co-Ed Babe Error". I also get the dreaded "prefetch abort at C0EDBABE" message from time to time on my iPod video; my SVN build is r14242-070808. The only solution is to reset your DAP. I don't know the Sansa's reset trigger, but on mine, that would mean pressing MENU+SELECT until the iPod reboots.

I've noticed that it seems to happen the most when I have either Repeat All or Repeat One set on. If you have Repeat set on, try turning it off before playing a video.

Amazing, with Repeat Off I do not get the babe-bug at all.

got it again but it really seems to be less frequent.

The repeat trick won't make it magically vanish in a puff of smoke, but it will make the "Co-Ed Babe" pester you much less frequently.

Just always keep in mind: "Work-in-progress... work-in-progress... my input will help make it better..."

I sometimes get exactly the same error message after upgrading from an older version to a current build.

However, until now I have been able to fix it by removing the .rockbox folder from my player (Sansa e280) and then copying the "clean" .rockbox folder from the zip onto the player.

I then boot into Rockbox once and make sure that video playback works. Then I copy my settings and themes back onto the player (I keep a backup of known-to-work settings on my computer) and usually it works without any problems after this.
