iPod and wall charging
(1/1)
dockboggs:
Howdy. Rather than complain about a problem I'm having, I thought I'd share something cool that I just discovered. I recently bought the Altec Lansing iM600 audio system for my Rockboxed 80GB iPod. In addition to being impressed with the iM600's performance, I quickly discovered a major difference in how the iPod behaves when it's being charged by the iM600. Up until now, when I'd used the standard Apple USB wall charger with the iPod running Rockbox, the 'idle poweroff' setting (if I had it enabled) would kick in and start all the constant rebooting nonsense we've read about here on the forums. When it's in the dock of the iM600, though, the iPod behaves basically the way I want it to (it runs Rockbox, remains on, and charges happily -- regardless of whether it's idle).
Just wondering -- is this happening simply because there's no USB cable involved? If so, where can I get myself a simple wall charger that requires no USB cable?
