Hi
About 6 months ago, I bought a 'reconditioned' iRiver from LilyandLily on Ebay.
Upon receiving it (in China where I had planned to use if for research), I found that the hard-drive was full of drive errors and unusable. I shipped it back to iRiver USA (still under warranty) and they sent the 'repaired' unit back to me. When I tested it, again, I found it would seize up after trying to make mp3 (380) recordings long than 5 minutes. Sometimes the file would reach as large as 30 megs before seizing.
When seized, the harddrive continues to spin and all buttons become unoperational. I have to hard-reset it.
Has anyone else ever experienced this, or do I have a faulty unit again? I tried recording using iRiver firmware, its seems that it doesn't work too. (the iRiver firmware is SO unintuitive and badly designed!). Thanks to Rockbox and I hope there is a solution to my problem. Otherwise, its back to iRiver for repair #2.

Any ideas are appreciated.
