Sansa e260 broken screen
« on: August 03, 2007, 02:04:49 AM »
i have a sansa e260 running rockbox, the "rockbox-info.txt" reads
Target: e200
Target id: 23
Target define: -DSANSA_E200
Memory: 32
CPU: arm
Manufacturer: sandisk
Version: r13678-070620
Binary: rockbox.mi4
Binary size: 481280
Actual size: 480680
gcc: arm-elf-gcc (GCC) 4.0.3
ld: GNU ld version 2.16.1
Host gcc: gcc (GCC) 4.1.3 20070601 (prerelease) (Debian 4.1.2-12)
Host system: Linux

i don't know if that information is needed, but i hope it is helpful. basically i want to make a custom build that will look in a folder and automagically shuffle the the mp3's in the folder and or sub-folders (like the ipod shuffle). (i use it when i skate and i have broken it (the lcd screen) twice and now the whole screen is white and black and i'm unable to see what i'm doing at all. i attached a picture of it to show how fubared it is.) i need help figuring out where to start. any thing would help at this point. as a plus i have an e 280 i can test my builds on.  ;)

i'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post, if so please direct me to the correct place.

well 165 views and 0 replies later. so at this point i would like to talk to any developer that could spare a few minutes, via email and or IM would be preferred, and i guess here is a close third.
any response would be great even if it's to tell me i'm dreaming and should wake up.
thank you for your time

1)  Please don't double post.

2)  Any responses will be here, so that others can also get help if your question applies to them.

3)  Not so many of the developers read the forums, you may have more luck on IRC or the dev mailing list for this.

I think the easy way to do this is to use the voice UI, simply get yourself a voice file set "start screen" to resume playback and make a playlist.

if its still under warranty then call sansa at their # (i think its 1-866-sandisk).
they have a one year warranty.
explain that the screen wont work and they will ask for pictures.
i had the same problem and sandisk is very lenient. they should replace it.
hope that works

MODs: sorry if i am off topic.

also i forgot to mention. mine was whacked into a desk corner as i was walking. the screen  sheild had noticeable dents in it right where the LCD screen was broken. and they STILL replaced it. i am 99.9% positive they will RMA yours since there is no noticeable damage to the screen shield.

i hope this helps.
