Do you mean in Rockbox, or when connected to a PC?

We need more information.   For example, what operating system are you running?  What steps are you doing to try to put tracks on the player?  What happens when you do so?

Can you create the directory on the command line?

Code: [Select]
cd /media/disk/Music
mkdir Atreyu

if this doesn't work, perhaps you could try it as root instead?

Sounds to me like one of the following :

1) Your Nano is full

or

2) Your user doesn't have permissions to write to the mount point where the Nano is.

If i go into properties, it says that the nano is empty, and i've already checked permissions, as well as tried runing in root as well.   Is a reainstall a good way to go.

Try right clicking on the nano's icon on the desktop, and looking for either "Mount" or "Unmount" in the menu that comes up.

It's strange, but it may help. If it says "Mount", click it so it'll mount the drive.

Well, considering that Rockbox has no USB mode, if you can't get files to transfer in either Disk Mode or the Apple firmware, it's not really Rockbox related. Both ways you're using Apple software to handle the transfer of your files.

That's the only way to transfer music from your pc to your iPod.  So no, it doesn't defeat the purpose.  Unless you try drag and drop.
