Basically the title says it all, is there a good reason to limit the fps or is it best to always limit it?
Don't know if it is of interest, but i'm using rockbox on the sansa e270.

The Limit FPS option there is to prevent the movie playing back stupidly fast.

So, does it limit fps to the fps the video was recorded in (in my case, 25 fps) or am i mistaken in that?

It limits it, like you suspected, to the FPS the video was encoded to.
