My Rockbox video tutorial
(1/1)
lukeprog:
Just FYI, I made a video tutorial for installing and using Rockbox on a 1st-generation iPod nano. Thought you might be interested:

Soul-Slayer:
A few things:
Never said the site URL or where you actually found all them files,
Didn't eject your nano :P
You can record using a simulator instead of doing still images.
Otherwise (If you'd informed people where to get it from) it's informative :).
Llorean:
We also really, REALLY don't like people not installing by following the manual. Video tutorials go out of date frequently when we change install instructions, which we're likely to be doing within the next few months.
The manual is kept fairly up to date.
lukeprog:
Thank for your feedback. It's boring to name links in the video tutorial; links are in the podcast notes.
Llorean:
As a note, "ipodpatcher" isn't what installs the firmware. It adds a bootloader to a section of the disk. Rockbox on the iPod is more "software" than "firmware" so I find your video somewhat misleading.
You also only ever use iPodPatcher once (except on the rare occasion that there's a new bootloader version), so if you want to "upgrade your Firmware" you don't need to use it, despite your suggestion that it's what actually "installs the firmware."
