problems with 30 gig ipod video
« on: July 29, 2007, 02:40:05 AM »
I installed rockbox for the first time a few days ago and as soon as it was installed my 30 gig ipod video was not recognized by my computer or itunes at all when I connected it. It charges though and goes between the reset screen and the low battery screen often. also it heats up a bit while it charges. I tried doing the manual reset, it doesn't help. it was working normally right before I installed rockbox.

I can't seem to go into disk mode. Every time I try the very low battery screen pops up. I think it just charges a bit then it tries to reset and when you do menu+select again it just doesn't have any more charge left.

edit: I got it to get into disk mode. from there I restored the ipod with itunes only to have the same problem. when it has any charge at all it just tries to reset.

So you're saying it does this with only the apple firmware on it now ?

yes, it did seem to be that way,  but it turns out it was only frozen. I repeated the process of getting it into disk mode and then restoring it. I have finally gotten it to work. So as of right now, problem  solved
