Data abort, Undefined instruction, Prefetch abort (Update)

#Reistlehr-:
for mine, i can use it fine using apples OS. Plays music no problems, so the bugs are pointed at rockbox. I attempted to use the rbutils package on linux, to update it, but still prefetch, data abort, and undefines.

Well I'm glad that I'm not the only one out here with this problem. While the Apple OS works fine, maybe there is still a chance that Rockbox accesses some piece of hardware just a little bit different, and our hardware could be responsible. About six months ago I had the logic board replaced in my Ipod. Before it was replaced, it was incredibly weird. The line out on my Ipod worked perfectly fine while using Rockbox, but would not work at all using the Apple OS. I brought my Ipod to the Apple Store and they could not figure out why my lineout wasn't working. Best Buy ended up replacing my logic board because I was having static coming out of my headphone jack, very poor battery life, and my lineout wasn't working (again, only using the Apple OS). I boggled my mind why it was working with Rockbox. Anyways, I will have to try giving the Apple OS a chance to see if it freezes or not, but I'm thinking that something is wrong with our hardware.

Farpenoodle:
Sounds like it's related to the nano problem.

I'm listening to music right now using the Apple OS without any problems. I am baffled at why it is not working when it worked days ago using some older software. No one has any ideas? Would it be useful if I gave some of the error codes?

aarongoltz:
I just spent the last two hours trying to revert my Ipod's original firmware to something other than 1.2.1. I got it to 1.1, and unfortunately, after using the HP Format tool, Apple restore, then reapplying the bootloader and Rockbox firmware, it still crashes. I just got a Prefetch abort at B8141ECA, and an undefined instruction at 20000004. Every time I play a file it seems to be something different. Can anyone experienced out there chime in with any ideas on what they think this might be?

Thanks, Aaron
