Video problem

I am sure this has already been adressed already but i can seem to find the topic but i recently installed rockbox and wanted to watch a video. i followed the instructions given by rockbox but when i try to play the file al i get is a black screen with only audio. can someone give me any solutions?

This means you've done something wrong during conversion (or has in all previous cases.) Try playing the .mpg file on your computer and see if it works.

you need to convert the video to mpeg2 (I use winFF for converting) i have an ipod nano 1st gen and it worked, so im not really sure if itll work on yours...

Please don't use profanity in these forums.

How are you encoding the videos?  Do the source files have bad quality as well if you play them on your computer?  Do you get the same effects with the Elephant's Dream video?

Also, are you using the official Rockbox bootloader, or the ipodlinux loader2?  Older versions of loader2 do not load Rockbox correctly and one of the side-effects is very slow video playback.
