iPod 5.5 80G, no codec support?

(1/1)

cheeesemonger:
I don't know if this is spread across all platforms, just the iPod, or just something I did, but there seem to be no codecs installed and/or working on my iPod, so far as I can tell. I've tried AAC and mp3, with no luck. Advice, help, or just someone else with the same problem speaking up would be much appreciated.  :)

cheeesemonger:
Oh, and if it helps/matters, I'm syncing it to Amarok, under Ubuntu Linux.

cheeesemonger:
All the codecs seem to be in the right spot...  :(

Llorean:
First: READ OUR FORUM GUIDELINES. This is your warning, they're strictly enforced here and include a provision asking that you use the "Edit" feature if nobody has responded rather than multiposting.

Second: Give us some actual information. Are you getting an error message, if so what exactly does it say, if not, what exactly is happening?

Febs:
The problem is almost certainly that you have not properly extracted the Rockbox build to your player.  Try re-installing a build.

Also, check to make sure that there is no rockbox.ipod file in your root directory.  The rockbox.ipod file should be in the /.rockbox directory.  If there is one in the root directory, delete it before re-installing the build.
